Law 3 of 2005 was issued by the President of the Republic on 15 February 2005 and published in the official gazette on 15 February 2005. The law was amended in 2008 and 2014. This Law concerning Protecting competition and preventing monopolistic practices focuses on anti-competitive practices that might impact the freedom of competition in Egyptian markets and establishes the Egyptian Competition Authority (ECA).
